Jim walked upstairs and into the room of Sharon's brother Jed. Jed was a weird guy, a couple of years older than Sharon, who spent most of his time either reading about the occult or getting high. Sharon had told Jim that she often heard strange noises coming from his room late at night, and they had both wondered aloud what went on in there.
When Jim arrived at Jed's room, he noticed that the door was slightly ajar. He knocked quietly, but there was no reply. Slowly, he opened the door and peeked inside the dark room. After a moment, his eyes adjusted to the darkness, and he could see that no one was in the room. He entered.
"Now why," Jim asked himself, "did I come up here? Oh yeah," he remembered, "I need a green shirt." Looking around, he noticed rock posters on the walls, each showcasing different occult imagery. The floor was littered with dirty clothes, drug paraphenalia and other things he couldn't identify. Along the opposite wall, he saw the closet. He hoped that there might be some clean clothes inside. He stepped gingerly across the floor until he reached the closet door, then opened it.
Inside, he found an altar of sorts, with half burnt candles strewn across the altar top and a pentagram etched into the wall. On one side of the altar sat a mortar and pestle with a bit of powder in the bottom that Jim could not identify. Hanging above and to either side of the altar were a few articles of clothing, which Jim proceeded to look through. He found a satin robe, a red shirt, and...finally! The green shirt he wanted. In the darkness of the room, the fluorescent green almost looked as if it was glowing, but he dismissed that as an illusion. Jim reached into the closet and:
